As a new 41 year old woman, I have just rediscovered my connection with being an artist and a feminist. I am married with two children, a dog, and a cat…and realize that I have been a both an artist and a feminist for years but haven’t fully embraced how much I need these parts to myself until turning 40 smacked me with the double standard of aging. I considered a tummy tuck for my birthday and then realized what the hell was I thinking and went to see Gloria Steinem instead and enrolled in art classes. Best decisions of my life.
Now I’m going to blog about being a 40 year old woman raising two girls in our world today. I want to make a difference in the lives of my daughters and all of women.
I am on a personal journey to discover my truth, become whole, and set free my inner artist.
I want to inspire my daughters to think, challenge, and become strong women that we need in our world. I plan to succeed at it.
Thanks for the follow on Twitter. Good luck with your blog!
Best,
Marcia
I really appreciate what you’re doing here. I think it’s incredible how often someone, a woman, can come to the brink of accepting a particular social norm, conforming…and then something inside starts to stir, because maybe what she was accepting didn’t feel just right to her heart, to her soul. And, of course, one of the greatest inspirations in life is a daughter…We know how amazing she is and we just want her to go out and feel limitless, wonderful, beautiful and present. So thank you for starting your blog…you are contributing to a quantum consciousness of women who are discovering their voices and their value. Good luck!
I am inspired by your words and am with you all the way.
I just stumbled onto your blog. Such honest stuff. Keep up the good work!
